HONG'S TAEKWONDO AUSTRALIA
Stacey Anderson (Poomsae Instructor)
I have been training in Taekwondo for five years and have been awarded a
Second Dan Black Belt and a Level 1 NCAS Coaching Certificate. I have a
Masters in Special Education and received the River Group Special Education
Prize for excellence in teaching by Macquarie University in 2002. I competed
in the 2006 National Tournament and was runner up at the NSW State Tournament
in Poomsae. I regularly attend state training seminars to keep up to date
with the latest developments in Poomsae. For the past year I have been coaching
the Hongs Taekwondo Poomsae Tournament team. At our first national tournament
in September 2006 our team won a gold medal and we won three gold and two
silver medals at our first NSW State Tournament. The Hong’s Taekwondo
Poomsae Team also perform regularly at local demonstrations which are enormously
fun and well received.
Poomsae is a great discipline for those who do not want to compete in a combat sport. It helps develop technical Taekwondo skills as well as improving fitness, balance, flexibility, memory and leadership skills. Poomsae can also help reduce stress and is suitable for people of any age including children as young as six to masters over 50 years.
Taekwondo has enabled me to travel to many states in Australia and to
keep fit and make friends while having a lot of fun.
