SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with pride and joy that Hong’s Taekwondo Australia announces the successful selection of our very own club member/player

JASON NOH

to represent Australia to compete in the upcoming

2010 Youth Olympic Games (Taekwondo)

World Taekwondo Federation Qualification Event

to be held in Tijuana, Mexico on 3 - 5 March 2010

Jason will be contesting the 55-63 kgs division.

If successful at this qualification event by placing in the top 6 of the division, Jason will earn the right as Australian representative to contest that division at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Singapore in August 2010 subject to the discretion of the Australian Olympic Committee.

Many of us have witnessed Jason’s perseverance and commitment to the sport of Taekwondo for the past several years. We have seen him grow up to be an elite taekwondo athlete and a courteous, unassuming lad.

All the years of hard training with Master Hong and members of the Hong’s Taekwondo Australia club team is now gradually paying off.  This is just the start of what hopefully will be the path towards national team selection for the Australian Olympic team for Jason for London 2012 or future World Taekwondo Championships or Asian Taekwondo Championships.

Jason has previously represented Australia in the Junior Team at the 2008 Oceania Taekwondo Championships at Auckland, New Zealand and has won the Junior Sportsperson Award by Blacktown City Council last September 2008. He has become the inspiration of our younger club members/players who wish to do well in future taekwondo competitions and earn the right to be in the Australian National Taekwondo Team.

To demonstrate our support to Jason, we humbly ask if you may give a gold coin or any monetary donation which will assist with the funding for his trip to Mexico. A collection basket/box will be made available by Master Hong at all classes in all venues. You may also hand in your donation in an envelope to Master Hong at any of the weekly classes. The YOG Australian team will be departing on 27 February 2010.

Thank you for your support and contribution.
